Even with this new shared political government, and the meeting of ex-paramilitaries to deal with interface issues. It seems that as somethings change so do somethings remain the same. www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/education/article2574383.eceSo catholic homes are under attack, and loyalist paramilitaries have no influence to stop them? Where are the unionist politicians calling for loyalist paramilitaries to end these attacks? The only option is to build a wall through a school who's ethos is to intergrate both communities together through education. Maybe some people can not be educated? And once this wall is built how will this impact on the future of the school? Will people travel arround the wall and pretend that it is not in their school yard?

I'm sure Loyalists aren't totally to blame and i bet the attacks have been reciprocated. Always 2 sides at it and the ordinary people on both sides suffer. I agree that Unionist leaders should be doing more to stop these attacks but its the same when the shoes on the other foot, we feel that republicans don't do enough. Personal experience of republican attacks in Ballymena and SF silence always leave me feeling annoyed!!! But a parade and its all guns blazing, protestants being burned from their homes,,,,,sweet FA

I'd think it's more to do with some skobies/hoods/spides than anyone actually being Loyalist or Republican [/quote] www.ballymenatoday.co.uk/news?articleid=2895150www.ballymenatoday.co.uk/ViewArticle.aspx?SectionID=2993&articleid=1161100www.ballymenatoday.co.uk/ViewArticle.aspx?SectionID=2993&articleid=1161057www.ballymenatoday.co.uk/template/ViewArticle.aspx?SectionID=2993&articleid=1161063www.ballymenatoday.co.uk/template/ViewArticle.aspx?SectionID=2993&articleid=1160503www.ballymenatoday.co.uk/template/ViewArticle.aspx?SectionID=2993&articleid=1160256www.ballymenatoday.co.uk/template/ViewArticle.aspx?SectionID=2993&articleid=1160220Now just tried to dig out some SF coverage from the local area. You can say they are only representing their people, fair enough. Interesting about agnew being in court clapping RIRA men!!!! Some SF boy he is!!! Now local news about attacks on Protestants. www.ballymenatoday.co.uk/ViewArticle.aspx?SectionID=2993&articleid=1160749www.ballymenatoday.co.uk/ViewArticle.aspx?SectionID=2993&articleid=1161315www.ballymenatoday.co.uk/template/ViewArticle.aspx?SectionID=2993&articleid=1160748Now without doubt there are many instances of attacks on catholics. I can't find anything about SF seeking to condemn these attacks or stop them. There is plenty from SF though when it was Loyalist attacks, likewise Unionists are quiet when its Loyalists. Show me Setanta anywhere that SF have been as proactive in preventing protestants being burned out of dunclug as they have been in preventing a loyalist march?? We know whats important to them and protecting Protestant rights isn't high on the agenda. There is plenty though about ahoghill and the rights of catholics but no mention of protestants in dunclug

no problem.....no rush and its not like we have any parties any better because Unionists are as guilty of this as anyone. When SF come to mind with me this is what i judge them on, local things that i've experienced.

I dont get why people are suprised at what SF or any other party as Harry said, do this. They're all political parties, at least they arent labeling each other the way American parties do

Not sure if it's a habit, though. Still never mind, I seek leave to withdraw the comment, your honour.

BH mate if you read my post again you will see i never mentioned that we get blamed for everything. Flashpoint areas like these always come out because of idiots on both sides, thats my point. Equally leaders on both sides are slow in reprimanding their own side but pretty quick at lambasting the other.

So that just shows typical DUP ignorance, they would rather unite against SF than really have a go at making a difference. A point is made that SF fail to recognise that Protestants are being intimidated also??? This is my point!!! Police figures back up the theory that many attacks are against Protestants.
Fair play to SF for tabling the motion. Where is the condemnation of the attacks on Protestants in Ballymena???

So is this motion equal to condemnation??? I can find lots of statements from mckay and mcguigan about attacks on catholic homes, churches etc on your website but nothing regarding attacks on Protestants?? Why is this??? Surely you must be able to find me some sort of proof of this condemnation by now?? It hasn't happened!!! As per usual it goes quiet when its your own side involved, likewise for us but SF bang on about all this equality but fail to be firm in their condemnation of republicans in ballymena North!!! This just says to me that SF are as bad as my own representatives when it comes to things like this. No better, no worse. Just typical

Even though SF tabled a motion to tackle all sectarianism and to end all sectarian attacks? Credit to them for such a motion. Why not come out and condemn those within your own community that are trying to ethnically cleanse Protestants??? Why has there been silence?? You have yet to show me anywhere that SF have came out and condemned these attacks. If they only look out for their own then just say it, we do most of the time so it isn't any shock. If SF had of came out and condemned these attacks against Protestants in all honesty they would of gained respect from alot of people from within Loyalism within Ballymena. A failure to do so merely helps portray the image that SF support such incidents but its all supported from behind closed doors!!!!

Not at all mate, putting forward a motion as they did allows for the sectarian attacks on Protestants to be consumed within the motion and to be nicely hidden away with all the other sectarian attacks that have gone on in Ballymena. I have no doubt at all that more Catholics are victims of such attacks in my town and don't think we should be trying to make out that we are innocent in all this cos we bloody well aren't. Unionists have at most only offered token condemnation so they are no better.
SF ensure maximum public awareness of any incident directed at republicans no matter how small and that is why they are elected so fair play to them. Why then is it silent when family after family are being forced from their homes in Ballymena North?? Is it because these people are Protestant???, is it because these people wouldn't vote for SF???, is it because SF are unaware of these events even though these are the areas that SF have maximum voters???, is it because SF don't want to upset any possible voters and the plight of Protestant families isn't as important as the next X in the box???
So many questions and not enough or any answers matey. SF members are more likely to be found at the band parades with camcorders recording faces and trying to provoke a reaction from bandsmen.

Mate if those families weren't important then Sinn Féin wouldn't have put the motion forward.. But this is getting us no where. Tell me exatly what you want to see happen Its not about what i want to see happen, i'm looking for explainations as to why SF haven't been so rigorous in condemning attacks on Protestants. Thats all i would want...answers as to why their North Antrim representatives turn a blind eye???
