Those laws are backward.

we open on sunday at work, the laws on it are quite fiddly. If you are less than a certain size in square feet you can open as long as you want, if over you can only open 6 hours. Most large companies whatever the size of the branch only open 6 hours though as it is hard to get staff to do more. An example is the nearby small Tesco store, it could not open on Easter Sunday (despite saying it would on the door) as only the manager and security guard turned up to work. Leaving that aside NI does have very dated laws on Sunday opening compared to the rest of the UK.

I'm p!ssed off that the pubs are shut by law on good friday in the ROI. If there were religious restrictions on private businesses every week, I'd be really p!ssed off! Where are you meant to get a breakfast roll on a sunday morning to cure the hangover?

It's the same in Oz on Good Friday and that's hardly a Catholic Country Must be some kind of off-licence conspiracy, if two dipso countries have that law!

Knowing the owner I'd say he'd try his arm at anything and with his prices I'd have a lie in till 1pm and go to tescos. Looks like he needs it.

It's the same in Oz on Good Friday and that's hardly a Catholic Country but theres no doubt that the law in ireland, is because it is/was a catholic country. theres no other reason why pubs here would be closed.

definitely but the east end of London is not all that Catholic (although it had it's little ghettoes of people from Catholic countries when I was growing up, but hardly a majority) and I remember pubs been closed not all that many years ago. Up till I was about 18 the only thing open would be the newsagents for about a hour before and after mass to pick up people coming and going and everything else would be dead including pubs.

I wouldnt know enough about SF to vote for them tbh. The links with the IRA would always stop me from voting for them. Plus i am not too pushed about coercing unionists into a 32 county state Anyway, the election is scheduled for s friggin thursday, meaning i wont be at home to vote. And i just heard that today is the last day to get postal vote forms stamped by the colleges, which is too late for me to get done now. Hopefully it isnt true.

So you wouldn't vote for Labour, Fianna Fail, Progressive Democrats, Fine Gael, The Workers Party, RSF or my Sinn Féin. So you're either a Green or a Socialist? ??

Oh, i meant the provos. The ones who killed children. The old ira didnt do that. the provos are not legitimate successors of the old ira, the irish army are.
they are not the same.
Leaving aside that for one moment, i actually dont know an awful lot about SF, so what would you say to a young voter like me, to convince me to vote for them? Not being smart, its a genuine question.

thats a good idea about making sure the govt fulfills its obligations, i like it. esp on the registration issue, its nearly a grand in UCD now. free education Anymore ideas on education? teacher numbers? what about addressing the gender imbalance in primary teaching? i think that is crucial. stamp duty? house prices in general? how will i be able to buy a house in 5 or 6 years time?
