I'm off to meet the two lads in an hour or so. We're going up to Carsons old gaff for a natter. ;D The craic was great, but having drank all the drink we bought him he proceeded to guide us in the direction of the wrong bus. Had we been stupid enough, God knows where we would've finished up. Typical freakin Irish s**t, (WASP told me to write that) he says he expected no better. Setenta!!!!!! the freakin 33 does not leave from O'Connel Street you sneaky SF lying git. Only kidding mate (except for the bit about the bus it leaves from the next street ) we had a great time, thanks for a great day. Sandy says keep in touch, as do I. Even WASP thinks you are not too bad, we recommended he go down for a visit, I won't give you his reply ;D (another joke) Thanks mate we really did have a great day in Dublin, irrespective of the grey skies . Despite our differences (politically) we have always been able to treat each other with respect, long may that continue. I look forward to the next time we have the opportunity to meet, maybe I can return the favour in Belfast.

It would be good to meet some people from this site. If anyone ever ventures down south again in the future, let me know (that is assuming you want to meet up!!!). I was in Belfast myself last February, it was fantastic.

Hi mate you in particular I would love to meet up with, Sandy is of the same opinion. Wish we'd known you were interested when we went down yesterday, or at least known where you were in the south. Sandy may be over again next year and he would love to meet up with you, so keep in touch. In the meantime if you are visiting Belfast again anytime in the future, please feel free to contact me and we can arrange a meet.

I would like to verify what Bilk has said, sandy and bilk really enjoyed meeting Setanta and thought he was a really nice guy, they both had a fantastic time. I was worried about them though incase they caught fire crossing the border ;D ;D ;D
I would also like to take this opportunity for Bilk's hospitality which was second to none, and I would also like to thank sandy for the glass of tap water he bought Bilk and I when it was his round. ;D ;D

The feelings expressed are mutual mate, I'm gutted we missed the call. We went out for a couple of hours to the local working mens club and by the time we came back we were three sheets to the wind ;D still got a hangover. As for not buying your round you are right we insisted, not that there was time for many rounds. Anyway we wanted rid of the monopoly money you people use down there ;D And yes, the bus had moved to the next street very recently, anyway we got home and all was well. Thanks for a great day mate, and hopefully we can do something similar again soon, maybe you can come up here, I got a big lonely house if you need somewhere to kip And the invite is open to the missus too if she would like a shopping trip to Belfast. The offer is open to anyone else who feels they would like to give it a go. Agree totally with your statement that we are all human when taken from behind this screen, we had a good laugh.

I got a really cheap deal for the Hilton hotel So it was just a few mins walk from the city centre. Is that loyalist or republican?? I dont know!

It is close to where Robert McCartney was murdered, you probably walked past the very place. I stayed there a few times and like you I got a fab deal especially with the complimentory drinks. Apart from that it is a dear hole.

It is very dear alright. 20 quid for a breakfast. It was outrageous. But the price of the room was a steal in fairness. Would I have walked past that pub on the way into the city centre area? Around Victoria Square?
I have to say, I do think Georgian Dublin looks nicer than Victorian Belfast. Maybe I'm biased, but I prefer the earlier style architecture. No offence!

Sorry to say m8 most of the older buildings in Belfast were destroyed by those who cared little for either period of British history. Bombs that wrecked the city day and daily removed most of our best architecture.
