You were probably in the loyalist parts and that's why you enjoyed it ;D ;D I was around the city centre. I got a really cheap deal for the Hilton hotel So it was just a few mins walk from the city centre. Is that loyalist or republican?? I dont know! The entire city centre is neutral until you come to the short strand to the east then newtownards road. sandy row/lisburn road to the south, tigers bay to the north and the falls/shankll to the west! i cant think of any symbols or murals or flags (apart from city hall) in any part of the city centre. theres a celtic and rangers official stores about 4 buildings away from each other! thats as close as it gets. having lived in manchester for a while there is a good mix of very modern buildings and older buildings from the 1800s, you can see them in old pictures and theyre still standing today, but it doesnt work that well in belfast, most of them are falling to pieces. royal avenue has the same buildings it had 100 years ago if you compare a recent picture and an old one but its unsightly. even the black man tech is i think being demolished. i made a documentary about the history of the building for my film class years ago and had to go through a lot of old photos, the class rooms still had the same doors in 1920 as they did in 2006, the place was falling apart.

I would also like to thank sandy for the glass of tap water he bought Bilk and I when it was his round. ;D ;D Got news for you mate. That wasn't Tap water. While in Dublin we dropped a bucket in the Liffey and brought home some Liffey water just for you. (Setanta's idea).
