IMO, no loyalist can moan about fascism, while loyalists are involved in racist attacks on immigrants in the north, giving fascist salutes in football games, involved with C18 and working with neo-nazi's in Germany. I am a loyalist, i am not racist, i have never given any kind of salute that can be remotley seens as a nazi salute, i dispise the BNP and C18 and have never worked with neo-nazis in germany or anywere else, so i will 'moan' as i see fit, of course its unsuprizing to see you try the old generlizing loyalists trick, Its amazing how even the most aleegedy liberal republicans/nationalists can get so offened by comments made against a terroist orginization that is the IRA Well then, according to WASP's logic, you're a hypocrite. |

Wilderness you are best ignoring Earl or at least his childish posts like this. He is trying to play a wee game to try and prove a pointless point instead of just addressing the issues and explain the 'real' reasons he brought combat18 and facism etc into the thread. Perhaps he could explain himself now that I am giving him the chance or rather the opening he has been waiting for to hit back with the blah blah blah. Wilderness you do have a very good point on the alledgedly liberal nationalists/republicans getting so offended by comments made against the ira. Sometimes you could almost write someones next post before they do or at least the jist of the content of the post because they can be easily read like a book at times. |

Anyway back on thread. I have got to know a few members of the travelling community, now I know they don't speak or represent them all but here is my take on them going by those that I have got to know.
1. Definately would steal anything if it meant they were going to make a quid.
2 would do anything even if they were only going to make a quid profit.
3. deeply religious but only when it suits them
4. not scared to state they would attack other travellers or anyone else with anything that they can get their hands on.
5. Definately not un-hygenic, these ones I know are very clean (unless working of course) and sometimes smell like a perfume shop.
6. Would definately choose a different life and they can become quite emotional discussing their upbringing.
7. Heap praise on peoples honesty, infact they even seem surprized at the most basic cases of honesty such as someone telling someone at the till they gave too much change. On a few occasions they have said they wish they could be like that.
8. definately alienated and misunderstood but alot of it is their own fault.
9. don't seem to care about politics as they feel no-one cares about them. Highly critical of sinn fein which surprized me.
10. Not scared to do hard work.
11. extremely polite and courteous.
