I have to say I very much against the idea of games on forum that is supposed to be about serious discussion to find a way forward and look for common ground areas that might be developed beyond the group.

It sort of trivialises the importance of good debate, there are plenty of topics that could be discussed and quite a few are common across the world.

Did you notice the topic is called "Fun and Games"? In the past many of us have found common ground through topics other than the serious debates and it has helped establish a connection that brought about much understanding of a person that was carried into the debates.
There are other sections set up for serious discussions.

That is fair enough but if people want trivial games there are loads of dedicated sites for such games. Why must we play games, yes we can have other topics and they do not all have to be serious debate. I have been in many groups and have watched these forums become involved in word games until they have taken over the forum.
Let us first give discussion a try before we start playing games, admin people need to giving the good example by helping to expand debate.

TWF has always had it's fun section and games and it has never taken away from the debates or taken over the site. As I stated it has worked just the opposite. Not only has it proven that we are all alike in many ways, it has given us a place to have lighthearted contact for a cool down period after a heated debate .
Now please let the game continue....with you (as you are most welcome) or without you (and you can stay with debates only).
