I heard it on the news. IMO he will be hard to replace, rather than be tribal in his aims like alot of nationalists seeking tribal victory, Ahern seemed to aim more for accomodation. I think he will go down as a great leader concerning the NI situation anyway.

Good riddance to the corrupt fcuk. Biffo is a lot more republican than Bertie. Should make the north/south dynamics more interesting for a while, especially with Peter having a harder edge than Big Ian at the moment. My worry about Biffo is that he's such a FF party-man, that he's likely to put FF before the country.

For our Unionist friends who don't know who Biffo is, he's the Finance minister, Brian Cowen. Biffo stands for 'Big Ignorant Fcuker From Offaly'.

Its exactly what he is, too.
Sad to see Bertie gone, he made some legendary statements.. I remember watching him during question time and saying to a question "err I can't answer that question as i cant find me notes". If Anto blair said that there would be motions of no confidence against him.

Bertie was probably only beaten by Bush when it came to crazy mixed up phrases.

Bertie will be remembered well once the dust settles. He was the leader on the rudder during the most successful period in Irish history. Now is the time for him to go, and I'd say after his speech infront of both houses of the U.S. government in May, he'll have won back a lot of people.

Yeah he met up with me when he was in Manchester for the derby and gave me a few bob to see me through. Wouldn't get that sort of help from Gordo would you?!?!
