Did I say I would forgive them or did I say those who truly have truly repented blah blah. Big differencein accepting those that have truly repented and forgiving them. I cannot remember ever saying I would forgive them, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't.
Apart from that it is good to see that he may have found faith and is perhaps getting to know the Lord. I welcome that and who knows what his private thoughts are, but if this is true then considering his past he should come clean to those he is worshipping with especially considering what he has done.
If I killed people because of their religion and then years later went to worship with these same people then if I had any decency, any true remorse I would stand up and make myself clear as in to what I done, why I done it and most of all how much I regret it and how sorry I am.
Only God knows if he is truly sorry and is truly following him. I believe he very well may be, depending on how he comes clean will depend on how sincere and remorseful he is.

BTW if I sound like somne kind of bible basher judging anyone then I am far from that. I am in my own personal torment with my beliefs which are being tested constantly.

Sorry, WASP, I thought you had said you would forgive them, but perhaps you said "accept" instead. Either way, I wasn't posting this to have a go at you or anything, I was just intrigued by the apparent conversion of a so-called republican "volunteer" (or sociopathic criminal thug I would have said) into an arm-waving evangelical Protestant. In other words the very sort of person he would once have shot.

Yes it is strange BH but then that is all part and parcel of the grace of God. He does work in mysterious ways and I am in no way going to try to judge the Lord. Only he knows if this man is genuine, and if he is IMO he will make some kind of testimony and confess his actions.
A while back one guy I was talking to told me that God lifted him from the gutter of gutters. From being a man of violence, drug dealer, drug addict, armed robber, wife beater, gambler, alcoholic amongst other things he now does loads of volunterr work for people in similar situations. He is now happier than he has ever been in his life now that he is flat broke, no more big cars or houses, just a small bedsit. So nothing surprizes me.
