the IRA and UVF killed far more innocents than the british army. They rank a long way down the list of bad guys in NI.
But still, Bloody sunday was a disgrace.

The point isn't to point the finger elsewhere. It's all about responsibility. It's about time the British government and army took some responsibility in such issues. They were meant to be blind to religion, and were meant to enforce every individuals freedom, regardless of political ideologies. Instead, they picked a side, and started harassing anyone with an Irish name, turning a whole community into suspects. Let's see how far they'll get in their current 'war on terror' if they use similar tactics against British Muslims and immigrants.

The IRA and UVF werent deployed by the state to control the situation. The point of a national army is to protect its citizens, and the British army failed. I'd personally put them higher than the UVF and UDA on the list of bad guys.
