I think SNP won by 1 seat. Not enought for a majority so they need to form a coalition if they are to be in majority. Lib Dems don't like the idea of a vote on the union so who knows??

More less. They'll not be in Government this time but its very clear who scottish people are taking a liking for.
Its actually better if they DONT form a government, it means they can hassle and yap about labour and lib dems (who will probably coalition) for propaganda sakes. Then next election, they'll probably completely take over for these reasons:
lib dems are a joke, labour are on their way out, not a lot of scottish vote tory. simple as that.

My understanding is that there is a loose agreement between the SNP and the Greens, but not a coalition. The Greens will support SNP leader Alex Salmond for minister posts. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/6649511.stmBut I think what is most interesting is that they might cut the number of ministers down to 6 from 11. In the north there is a review of the ministerial posts and we might follow this example and cut costs. One of the post expected to go might be the one held by Reg Empey which makes you wonder why he picked it. |

They should let Labour and the LD's take it over this time so they can whinge and yap and get a majority vote next time. Smarter way to do it instead of going into a hugely minority government and having the media (then the votes) turn on you for fucking things around.
