Separately, Rudd angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote:

I disagree, we can not compare the world and political thinking in modern times with centuries ago. Many wrongs happened back in those times between different countires but also there were many positives. Those that came built up the nations into prosperous advanced countries some of which are the envy of the world. These same people loved there new country, the same country that there children were born and bred in and it is these people who we should all acknowledge as having built great nations.

That aside if the actions of countries centuries ago were to happen now such as taking over another country then the civilized world would oppose it and condemn it, nor can we blame people speaking up for the country they love because there forefathers moved to that country centuries ago. Should people not speak up for their country such as the speech above because there forefathers came years ago??

They are entitled to defend and love their country as much as any person born and bred in any country anwhere in the world.

Well leeside I am in support of the native Americans etc, wasnt it Brando who sent a native American to collect an oscar or whatever for him to show his support. Let's not forget either many of those who came to live in America for example right down to their generations of family befriended and supported and gave much needed income to native Americans.

It is a nonesense to argue about what happened to countries centuries ago and relate it to the present day. No country in the world is as it was centuries ago. We have all been conquered and changed, everyones land has at some time been taken froom them. The only interest I have in history is to ensure the that the evils of that history do not happen again, this is what this guy is doing, more par to his elbow.
