Jim as promised I kept a note of various prices from my few days away. 2 days cost me almost 600 quid but that includes clothes and some Christmas presents, but doesnt include my way there or my stay
Anyway the majority of bars I went to were in popular tourist areas (the West End), I also drunk in Camden, Kings cross area and of course up near the Emirates. AND WE ARE NOT going to be talking about the match either
All the cafes, restaurants etc I ate in were in the West End and they were not some back street dives either and believe me if the meals were crap etc then I would say so.
We had 2 eat as much as you want Chinese buffets in 2 different restaurants which I had never been in before. The food was lovely and for 2 people along with 2 cokes the bill came to £22 in one and £12.60 in the other.
The most I paid for a pint was £3 and that was up at a bar near the Emirates, a double vodka and red bull and a pint in a bar at the edge of soho was £8 which is less than here. The cheapest for that was £7 and the cheapest pint was £2.50. We were in a popular bar which specializes in cocktails and they had buy one get one free on all day Sunday, so that worked out at £3.20 a cocktail which isnt bad.
Fags are the same price as here or as anypart of the UK I would imagine and the all day travel card which got you on all buses and tubes all day in central London areas was £5.50 or £5.60.
A full English breakfast made up of 2 bacon, 2 eggs, 2 sausages, 2 hash browns, 2 black pudding and beans along with tea and toast was £4 and a real good feed at that. There wasnt much along the line of sales although a few places had some good offers, but apart from Carnaby street the clothes I bought were cheaper than here.
Could anyone else here compare similar prices with Dublin or any other city in the UK or the republic.
