Might not be true now they changed the timeline - I can't stomach the new 'sexy' Trek meself - it was meant to be a little bit nerdy. The franchise needed a good shaking up and down I agree but erasing all past continuity was not the best choice I think. Doctor Who got revitialised without having to resort to that.

'Enterprise' was shit, too patriotic for my liking, expected that after 9/11.

I could never get into that, tried watching a few episodes now and then but it just feel dull - Deep Space 9 was the best Trek series for me after the original. The Next Generation had some good moments but overall it felt a bit too Perrier water and PC (Deanna Troi drove me up the wall as a character) as oppossed to tolerant of others which was more a hallmark of the origina series.

I thought the new movie was a good laugh. Definitely the best 'blockbuster' I've seen this summer (actually, it's the only one I've seen, as I couldn't take my childhood being raped again by Transformers and Terminator). I was never a trekkie, but I always found some mild amusement out of the movies. I thought the new movie had the right level of tongue in cheek to pull off the revamp. When a young Kirk does his 'Shatner swagger' onto the bridge right at the end, I nearly p1ssed myself!
If you want decent sci-fi, watch the recent Battlestar Gallactica' series. Best Sci-fi ever on tv (my former favourites were Space Above and Beyond and Firefly).
