There was some mention in one of the threads recently about SF's souvenir shop and it's gaudy tack - oops, sorry, I meant meaningful and tasteful mementoes of the struggle. They have outdone themselves this time: www.sinnfeinbookshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=691For those who cannot understand the nuances of history, SF have reduced the 1916 rising to the level of a football match. Wear the colours of your team! Cross the ball to Connolly who shoots and scores!! Mon the Sellick!!! Am I alone in finding this utterly repellent and insulting? (I especially love the bit where they say "We have listened to what you have told us! You said you wanted a good quality sports jersey themed around Easter 1916 So here it is: ")

It's completely insulting. SF, the Ryanair of Irish politics. Cheap and tacky.

The prices on their DVD page were interesting. They have the movie Hunger for 25 euros or a bit over 20 pounds. Go look on Amazon and you can buy it for about 8 quid with postage.
That shirt in the opening post is truly hideous, what market are we aiming for there has to be asked? Is it a case of. as Earl observed. that this tat is aimed at the Irish american market.
Most of the stuff on the shop pages on SF's site looks like cheap souvenir garbage.
