Will resignations effect the number of ministerial seats the DUP are enthitled to on the executive?

No, I dont think he's an MLA, just an MEP. Basically means he's become an independant MEP in the european assembly rather then a DUP MEP.

Maybe but I doubt McCrea although he has made public his views. But anyone who can justify standing on a platform with Billy Wright can find the ability to make himself okay with the idea of sharing power. He is just shoring up his electoral doubters. Give him six weeks!

How can anyone who stood on a platform with Wright have any qualms about sitting in the Assembly with Sinn Fein? Maybe I'm wrong (and I'm sure yez'll tell me if I am!) but wasn't it the IRA that decommissioned their arms?

Did people vote for various DUP people knowing that power sharing was a near done deal??? Where DUP voters naive by thinking it wouldn't happen??? Get on with the job they have been elected to do

McCrea is a dodgy character even for the DUP, but I doubt McCrea will leave and I doubt any of the MLAs will leave. It isnt exactly going to make a different to how things are voted and debatd because its split on unionist and nationalist blocs anyway. Those nominated to stand for election and got in are high up enough in the party to know its in their best interests to stay in the party, its closer to home then the EU is.

Ballymena councillor Roy Gillespie (known as the 'Flower Pot man' - he fell into a large flower pot outside Belfast City Hall during scuffles with the RUC at a Anti-Anglo-Irish Agreement demo) has resigned from the DUP. He is the 3rd councillor from Ballymena in recent times, Davt Tweed and Sam Gaston left much earlier. Ballymoney councillor Audrey Patterson has left the DUP, I think he husband has also resigned but can find no confirmation of that, he maybe a councillor as well. To date no MLA's have resigned.
