Both are as bad as each other in my view. Everyone's shame, not just Scotlands or Glasgows.

They're not nearly as bad as each other, Celtic are highly respected throughout Europe, when a city finds out they're hosting Rangers the first reaction is "oh no"

They are not nearly as bad as Rangers? ? What crap Jim. Celtic Football Club has said any fans convicted over trouble on board a plane which caused an emergency landing will be banned from future international travel and the club's ground. The club spoke out after reports of a major disturbance on board a charter plane returning 148 Celtic fans to Glasgow, which forced an emergency landing at Cardiff International Airport. The Boeing 737, en route from Santiago in northern Spain to Glasgow, was carrying supporters home after their team's Uefa Cup game against Celta Vigo. The Royal Air Force scrambled two helicopters as a precaution before the plane's crew elected to divert. When the plane landed, nine fire engines and ambulances joined police at the scene. Police said six males from Glasgow were arrested - two 37-year-olds, and others aged 40, 42, 45 and 51. Wasn't it mostly Celtic fans who ripped parts of Dublin apart in the Dublin riots because the big bad Proddies were coming down with permission from the Irish government??? I know Celtic and Rangers fans who could hardly name a player for either team, but they certainly like to wear their tops during riots or disturbances. Both are as bad as eachother and BTW I do not mean the true fans in anyway shape or form.

You would have to question the intelligence of those who sing this song. Many Ulster supporters among the crowd of rangers fans would have had ancestors who died during the famine, so essentially, they are taking the p!ss out of their own support too! Clever boys!

No condemnation of the chant though.
Irish Government criticised for raising Rangers 'famine' chant with Salmond
Northern Ireland politician Adrian McQuillan claimed that they had been 'led up the garden path' by an internet campaign sympathetic to terrorist organisations such as the IRA.
Celtic fans were left incensed by the chant, nicknamed the Famine Song, which makes repeated reference to the Irish potato famine, in which a million people were killed and a million more forced to flee the country.
Scores contacted the Irish Government, who raised the issue during formal talks with SNP ministers and encouraged fans to contact the clubs, the police and Fergus Ewing, the Scottish minister responsible for tackling sectarianism.
But Adrian McQuillan, Democratic Unionist Party MLA for East Londonderry, argued that Celtic fans sing 'offensive' chants about the IRA and called on the Scottish football authorities to tackle the problem.
He said: 'I'm disappointed to hear the Irish Government has been led up the garden path by a targeted internet campaign that has originated from websites that express support for dissident Irish republican terrorists and those responsible for the Omagh bombing.
'The Irish Government has spent years interfering in the internal affairs of Northern Ireland, now it seems they intend to do the same in Scotland.'
He said several of his constituents had accused Celtic fans of singing about the IRA, but he had been disappointed by the response of the club and Scottish Premier League.
To the tune of 'Sloop John B', the Famine Song has four verses and is vehemently anti-Irish, with the chorus asking: "The famine's over, why don't you go home?'
It was repeatedly sung during the Old Firm match at Parkhead on August 31, which Rangers won 4-2. Later that night Neil Lennon, the Celtic coach, was left bloodied and unconscious on a Glasgow street in another sectarian attack.
The Irish embassy has confirmed that it had received complaints about the song, and the issue had been discussed at a recent meeting with SNP ministers.
Rangers, which has become increasingly exasperated by the actions a section of their support, has urged their fans to stop chanting the song.
The club said it has a long established policy of encouraging sporting behaviour and as a matter of policy discouraged the singing of songs which others may find offensive.
But the Rangers Supporters Trust defended the song, saying it was not racist, and was aimed at 'mocking the myths rival fans perpetuate'.
Jack McConnell, the former First Minister, has accused his successor in the role, Alex Salmond, of failing to show enough leadership in trying to stamp out sectarianism.
But the Scottish Executive insisted it was totally committed to combating the scourge, arguing that various campaign were under way in Scotland and it was working with the clubs to tackle the problems.

Then again you would have to question those Ulster fans who support celtic because they are bound to have had friends/relations, Church members etc killed by the ira while they chant their pro ira songs. Clever boys indeed.

Dublin riots has fuck all to do with football or Celtic, I'd be more concerned about the Manchester Riots which WAS to do with football. Lets not get political riots and football riots mixed up please. Ask people in Seville, Barcelona, Manchester and other big footballing cities which of the Glasgow teams are welcome. It won't be Rangers.

No Jim it is you who hasn't a clue, celtic fans with there support (not all fans though) for the ira etc has tinted your glasses. These celtic fans supported the UK owns being blown up and civillians killed nevemind members of the security forces. It is this support against your very own people and country speaks volumes about how low celtic fans (not all) are.
But you try and say they are not as bad as rangers fans. They are every bit as sectarian if not more so than rangers fans. For me theyr'e as bad as eachother.
BTW the dublin riots were fully supported by many celtic fans, I think even you cannot say they were not fans in the sameway those who rioted in Manchester were fans.

How do I not have a clue? When was the last time you went to Ibrox? I support Celtic (nearly) as much as I support City!
Yes I know some Celtic fans do all that IRA shite, its banned from Celtic Park and anyone caught gets thrown out on their arse, some do it on buses or in other cities, can't do anything about that. Rangers allow "Nakamura ate my dog" to be sung openly in Ibrox amongst other things.
They're not nearly as bad as each other the past few years, Celtic fans are well behaved in almost all cases when we go to other countries and cities, they're going down to Manchester to play the red shite from Trafford in a month or so, how many pubs will be forced to close and how many police men will be trampled on? Unlike the Rangers support we will be welcomed, and we'll be welcomed in every other city we go too when we reach the knockouts. Can Rangers fans say the same? No they cant. You're likely to get a kicking in Manchester if you wear a Rangers top now.
Yeh the dublin riots were supported by celtic fans, it wasnt in the name of football, a lot of them support Liverpool and United, does that mean those two teams are the same? No it doesnt. The Manchester riots were over a football match, not politics. How where they not fans? They werent Celtic fans dressed up in union jacks and Rangers tops for the day.
