As this bit of London has a lot of Jamaican and West Indian people I kind of grew up eating and seeing Jamaican food in all the newsagents and that. You can buy Irish Moss in soft drink form in most shops in this area, and also popular is Supermalt and malted drinks - actually the latter's quite pleasant if nice and cold although I don't love the former. There used to be a really good Jamaican restaurant near my house when I was a teenager with a really cool bloke who owned it who used to lend me records as we got talking a couple of times about music when he saw me carrying a load of jazz albums and commented they were kind of odd for a 16 year old to be listening to -he had a broad taste in music and was just a generally really decent bloke, the sort of bloke that's a lynchpin in influencing younger people in any community. I'd neverh have actually dreamed of trying Jamaican food before that besides the er, unusually sugary versions of cola you get here. (If anyone has tried the Jamaican drink Kola Champagne they'll know what I mean!!!).
There's a better sketch than that I remember from the show where three young black lads visit a BNP office and explain why they're more British using logic than BNP supporters ever could be...
