I done the quadruple last night, league cup against united, FA cup against arsenal, premier league with chelsea right up my arse and the champions league against inter. I've done all that, and the only team I can't feckin beat is
Bolton, they're stupidily hard.
With new young lads you need to really break their backs of they get lazy, when I bought Chris James he was playing for Scunthorpe and wasn't that good, was worth 750k but has bags of potential now he's got three stats 16+ but I cant remember what ones, and he was tutored by Gerrard for ages so he's a good attacker. I know he's good now because Chelsea have been annoying me to sell him and they'll pay out the nose, but I'm keeping him until hes worth a good 7 million then cashing in.
Torres is a legend, but try and sell Crouch and a lot of reserves who are dead wood but go for at least a million and get Defoe. The lad bangs 'em in, highest goalscorer for me and Torres gets injured a lot and you can't rely on Gerrard because he gets yellows every match. Spent 1/3 of the season on final warnings or being suspended. Voronin is top if you put time into him, I neglected him for ages and when I started playing him he won me the FA cup. I've always put two strikers up, the lesser striker hanging back a bit and getting the ball into the better striker. If you right click and drag a player on the formation screen itll show a yellow arrow to the position you want him to stay around. I'll upload my tactics for you now and all that lark, copied the first one from Arsenal's real life tactics and they do the job but some teams can get around it so I've loads.
Scouting, I can't spell his name, Vlaud or something, he's an excellent scout when you want a report card on someone, and I bought Éusebo for scouting and the rest of Liverpools scouts are dead on, send them on assignments now and again, but they'll give you a lot of names you already know. If you do well in your first season like me you'll only need to make one or two signings, Defoe put me in the red the entire season and now I'm richer than United with nearly £50 million to spend, just picked up Nakaura whos probably one of the best set piece players in the game, bangs in almost all freekicks and penalties, for £12 million, and some young lad whos a top defender from Villareal for £15 million.
If they say they have the potential to do better than Gerrard they can and will turn out that way if you put in loads of time, sometimes its not worth it because not all players can be arsed. Even if the scout says they cant, they arent always right.
I kept Gerrard center-right pushing up, playmaker sort of player.
Fuck thats a lot of writing.

"Untouchable" Main 442: Arsenal tactics in real life, work brilliantly. Put a DM like Alonso in the backtracking midfield spot and put Gerrard in the center attacking. Kewell goes well in left wing and anyone who can play in the right wing, or Gerrard. I've got Nakamura in there atm, sometimes Chris James but he can play any position in midfield which is why I like to rotate him.
Alternate 451: Is a bit more complicated but its good for teams that have good defenders, like Aston Villa or Man City, you can get right in behind them without being offside a lot of the time. The arrows around the circle mean your two midfielders can swap positions quickly, they'll cover top and bottom of the center circle as well as the sides while the wingers can get the ball down the flanks but you might have to put "down both flanks" into the tactics I might have changed it when I was playing AC milan who dominated me, drew both games and I only won on away goals.
Ultra defensive: My rangers copy from the Uefa cup. No dick goes beyond the half way line, they form a wall around the goal keeper and you hold your breath and hope they dont get a lucky goal. Excellent for two game knockouts like the champions league when youve not got a hope of winning in the San Siro or Nou camp, then you can dick them at home.
Time wasting: Your up by a goal or two and want to hold onto it, you scraped it in against a team like Chelsea (or fuckin BOLTON in my case) and its 80 minutes into the match. Its slow, with long passes, long crosses, little attack, and holding onto the ball as long as possible. Not outright defensive because I've scored plenty of times with it but it does the job. Helps save your goal difference.
Apart from that, get Defoe, sell who you can and get him, worth every penny of the £12 million he's actually better than Torres and has a bit more experience than Torres. Can't go one on one as well as Torres but the two are a brilliant team. Remember btw you can save the game before a match and reload it if you get a hard time, theres been times ive had 2 players sent off and 2 more injured against teams like Sunderland and its stupid as fuck, it ruins it for the next few matches because its usually Alonso and Gerrard suspended. Reload the game and replay the match, things usually go very differently.
Yeah go ahead, make an FM topic or something ;D
