Television viewers in Ireland will have their own Irish version of 'The Apprentice' this autumn.
TV3 will screen the new show, with 14 candidates battling it out to become millionaire entrepreneur Bill Cullen's apprentice.
The winner will receive a 12-month contract working alongside Cullen with a package worth €100,000. Advertisement
Commenting, Cullen said: "'The Apprentice' brings an exciting opportunity to budding Irish achievers. As a hands-on operator with various business activities I will give the winner an exceptional grounding in how to win in the tough environment of our current economic situation - and our morning meetings start at 6.30am. That's a fact."

But it's not a proper Irish biography unless you haven't tuppence ha'penny to rub together. I blame that McCourt fella meself. Met a guy from Limerick who's about the same age and he said to me once: "The McCourts? Dem fuckin yuppies...."

I look at my own relatively ahppy and contented childhood and weep for the lost opportunities. I should sue my parents for not being poor enough to give me a miserable upbringing. And I should sue the church for not abusing me and making me grown up with low self-esteem and a poor self-image...

Used to get a cane across the knuckles too and a punch in the chest. Sometimes you had to stand for 6 hours. In secondary school, I was beaten with a metre stick a few times and punched in the face by the vice principal (who snook up from behind so I really didn't know what hit me!). Maybe this is way we had a bit more respect when we were kids. Now that kids know they can sue anyone that tries to discipline them, they can do what they like.
