Was it ever really alive for it now to be declared RIP?
I think unionists are first and foremost determined on keeping the union- that might seem an obvious thing to say, but some republicans don't seem to understand it.
Setanta you often say that unionist politicians don't do anything for their voters in the same way that SF does. But I think that is to misunderstand unionism. It seems to me, that unionists are not as concerned as republicans are with having their politicians doing work ''on the ground''. They seem relatively happy if their politicians are maintaining the status quo. I know that is a HUGE generalisation and there are exceptions to that generalisation even on this site, but I feel that my observation is relatively accurate.
So I don't think there will be too many unionists concerned with the death of working class unionism as long as the union is secure.
