The Sunday Business Post newspaper in Ireland has suggested that the Irish government has been lobbied by casino operators wanting to set up casinos in the country.
Harrah’s have allegedly proposed a €350 million resort casino, which would create 2,000 jobs.
Representations by Harrah’s Entertainment to the Department of Justice have been made in the past few months, with the current legislation due to be reviewed in the coming months.
The move has raised concerns among some poker players, who feel the introduction of a super casino could dampen the currently lively independent poker scene in the country. Of course, those who were disappointed with England’s recent backtrack on it’s own super casino are in favour of the move which would see the super casino emerge a short ferry ride away from mainland Britain.

Definitely should happen, I'm still raging that England changed its plans (because it wasnt going to be in london the southern posh cunts). I'd never be out of the place.
