Would part of that reason not be because republican paras have stopped punishment beatings (to a fair extent) while loyalist paras are still doing it? I'd not say its because of republicanism, if thats what you are hinting at in your first paragraph, dunclugs always been a shit hole and is well known for being a shit hole. RIRA are hardly representative of most republicans either they have little support.

Now what exactly did I gossip about? You said I used a parish anicdote to back my claim, hope you remember that for everything you tell us on here. So because I said it and it was just another incident from a very long line you call it gossip which would suggest you think I am lying?
Well if that is the best you can do concerning what a Unionist says to try to keep up the halo vesrion of republicans that you have then I find it very very sad.
Basically only loyalists are the scumbags as republicans don't have criminals, druggies, hoods etc who belong to their community. Funny when a thug is being talked about it is ok if he is a loyalist but when it is a republican he is not a republican.
Perhaps you should goto these areas and tell them their not republicans, goto community leaders, the police, local residents etc.

Absolutely Harry and I totally agree. Not for a second was I suggesting this was a republican only issue, I was simply replying to the questions put to me concerning the areas in the thread. I drunk the odd time in the raglan and a few times in the moat as well as the opposite end of the spectrum in bars such as the inn at the other end of town.

No definately not Jim, this has been going on for years and years, infact as far back as I can remember which is quite a number of years. I remember going upto play in Dunclug and we had to take a long route incase we got a hiding from republicans. These were ira supporters which included 2 brothers who were both lifted for ira membership and activities. The rira weren't heard of then. There is a great deal of support for the rira in Dunclug but there is also alot of support for the ira, you can tell by the ira flags, those who chant 'ira' at passers by etc etc. These are definately republicans, maybe some are dissident republicans in dunclug but in general they are most definately republicans. Harry has backed what I said and he should know living there for years. But it will be dismissed because it makes republicans look bad, only loyalists are meant to look bad. |

Taking other routes into other estates was normal for me too so I'd not consider that too much. I use to have to go all the way up the falls, and through Ballymurphy or up the Whiterock just to get to Newbarnsley from Beachmount.
RIRA supports saying "IRA" mean RIRA, they see the RIRA as the continuation.
Where are you getting this "only loyalists are meant to look bad" shite from? If Republicans are being the bollocks then they are being the bollocks, its not because of Republicanism on a whole.

Jim if you look through thrads here concerning loyalist thugs there is plenty to be said about these loyalist thugs, when it concerns republican thugs we are told they are not republicans, that is what I meant.
Did you take the diversions for the same reason we did incase you got a hiding because of your religion?
