Ok daddy, when did I have a hissy fit and run off? Yes I was for packing the site in and still might do as I think we are getting nowhere and because of the blatant double standards concerning republicans on many posts. I have been debating with republicans for quite a while now and we are getting nowhere, it is there way or no way. But I will admit even Jim the odd time has surprized me with his views which are not the usual I have seen from republicans (I mean that in a good way). there are no double standards. You disagree with the republicans version of history just as much as republicans disagree with yours. Unfortunately, most of the PUL community seem to either be too scared or too bigoted to talk to nationalists/republicans, and it leaves those, like yourself and Harry, who are confident enough to do so outnumbered on many threads, giving them a bias to oneside. I certainly can see where you are getting this opinion from, but unless more from the PUL community come on here to air your side, it will always seem to be biased to one side. Regression works both ways. Since you've come back from your mini hiatus, you've sounded like the WASP from a year or so ago who was sticking up for scum like Aidan. Earl dude, I removed stuff bout the other site who's members we'd encourage to join here, PM me if there's an issue....WASP, I feel like a broken record at times. How many times do I have to say that I'm a right-wing capitalist. SF are lefties. We're as good as chums as Maggie Tatcher and Ken Livingstone! Do I think SF have tried to stereotype Unionists? Yes and no. Sf have at times, tactically said or done something as they know that they will get a certain type of response from the Unionist politicians. It makes it easy to manipulate Unionists into acting in a certain manner which can be stereotyped. But who's more at fault, SF for manipulating a weakness, or the Unionist politicians who are stupid enough to fall for it every time? I suppose Wally Wallace was set up in some kind of SF ploy to paint Unionists as hate-filled sectarian dinosaurs? There's a chorus in one of radioheads songs on the bends which sums this up: You do it to yourself, you do And that's what really hurts Is that you do it to yourself Just you and no one else You do it to yourself You do it to yourself

I've removed the posts about a certain other site coz we want some of them to join in here and it isn't fair to hijack this thrend just to blaggard another site. I hope no one minds but this thrend IS supposed to be about the GAA etc etc along with several sub plots and storylines.... You removed the end of my post too, which didn't even mention the site!

Now now setanta take a look at Billy wrights henchmen, try the leader in south antrim uda, and then a certain man from Ballymena for starters. You seem to think that the ira are above loyalist terrorists because republicans had a few prods and you think there is no way any catholic could be in any of the loyalist groups until recently. Funny how that logic comes from someone who has no desire for religion, maybe these Catholics felt the same, maybe not but they were still members. And we have been through this before.
Unionists have quite a few catholics but since we are talking about terrorists, Catholics were in these organisations before they turned to the thing the ira were masters at and that was crime.

What you think I am going to name them??? Don't you remember shades naming at least one of them? I think you can check up on the south Antrim one for yourself, lvf and the Ballymena ones I don't know if they have ever been convicted of anything but they have been arrested. Oh and Coleraine, Garvagh and Limavady area has the odd one as well.
A wee clue one was a good gaa player and won a medal for irish dancing. Oh and he has been linked with a few murders of Catholics and before I forget was in the paramilitaries way before any claimed ceasefire. Infact the gfa helped his early release.
You do know one of those suspected in the murder of Martin O'Hagan was a Catholic.
But hey if anything is not on google then its lies.

Also if there was a grievance at the Brits killing gaa supporters/players/members, then what about ira members who killed gaa members/supporters/players?? Or rather what about the ira? If the British army etc were excluded until 2001, then why not the ira, why commemorate ira members, why allow clubs/fields/tournaments/trophies named after ira members etc etc??? Just incase any of you missed this post I thought I would post it again.

I wouldn't say they were Catholics maybe they born that way but their certainly not Catholics now. So basically they could be the same as say Setanta, Jim, BA etc because they no longer practice Cathloicism or don't call themselves Catholic but are still from a Catholic background, yet they belong/belonged to a loyalist paramilitary group. Shades don't they have a nickname in the area? I just cant remember it but it is to do with there religion. I know a close relative of one of them died and the obituraries were in the Irish news instead of the newsletter which raised some eyebrows. For those who don't know nationalists place these in the Irish news and Unionists place theres in the News Letter.

FFS sake Setanta did you not read my post? They were members before any ceasefire, infact the gfa got one of them out of jail Stop with the 'I cannot believe a Catholic could be in any loyalist paramilitary group etc '. I don't doubt either that some have joined since the ceasefire as I got my eyes opened not more than two months ago concerning a Catholic youth from the republic. He comes from a massive family and lives in a republican area and it is well known in the area what his connections now are. Anyway they are not all ceasefire soldiers as you put it, some were members before and did you not see my post where one was suspected of the murder of Catholics. Your stubborness and refusal to believe this is unbelievable. Just shows you don't know as much about up here as you think. Hahha see answer above. Fact is you are wrong but you cannot accept it. You just ignored my previous post to continue with what your version of how up here is which is very much fantasy or misinformed. But keep ignoring these things all you want as it does not benefit me by telling you there was Catholics in loyalist paramilitary groups. I am quite happy for you to keep on believing your onesided version of up here because obviously you don't want to believe any different from what has been drummed into you about Loyalism etc. Funny how it is ok for you to go off topic with the rest of us on this thread and answer your points before returning to the topic but not on another thread. Come on Setanta you can be fairer than that, you know you can. Setanta the vast majority of Unionists are Protestant, the history between Catholics and Portestants in Ireland and further is there for all to see with the bitterness and hatred from all sides. The ira targeted Protestants in sectarian attacks and loyalists targeted Catholics in sectarian attacks. When a particular organisation allows the commemporation of any group that killed and maimed thousands in targeting another religions people, business's and towns etc then that organisation is very muc anti-whateve rthat religion is. Has anyone answered my points about if it was soccer etc???

No setanta you have proved nothing, you just don't want to believe it. Shades would be more towards your side of the fence and he confirmed it. Obviously you have not looked hard enough especially the one who played gaa and won a trophy for Irish dancing. But believe what you want to. Loads and loads of people do not go to church and have not been in years but they still call themselves Protestant or Catholic. Again your comparison is nonesense. Probably not as it is a republican organisation up here in N.Ireland, well infested by republicans at least. Mmmmm so commemorating and glorifying terrorists is furthering nationalist identity? ? If that is the case you can keep your promoting of nationalist identity, does other nationalists like say the sdlp, members of the Irish government, the gaa in the south etc, know this??? Anyway instead of trying to avoid answering it could you not at least try and even pretend it was simply the other way around.

I wouldn't say they were Catholics maybe they born that way but their certainly not Catholics now. Setanta this is shades words not mine. So basically they are no different from yourself or BA or Jim because they no longer according to shades practised/belonged to the Catholic church. You have no time for it, Jim and BA don't have it either but you still come from Catholic backgrounds. So what is so unbelievable with people in the same boat as yourselves but turned to loyalism instead???

I know the c**ts Shades is on about in Lurgan. I know Lurgan well. They weren't around in Billys hay-day. Still no verifiable examples then?? What about the opposite of Queen for starters?? He had links to Adair, and was a friend of Billy Wrights for a long long time. Oh and he was sentenced in 1994. Have you tried the south Antrim boss of the UDA?? He's been around for a long time. Now as I have already said I am in no doubt that Catholics joined loyalist groups after the ceasefire and I am in no doubt that Catholics joined during the troubles. Anyway are you familiar with a place called swords not to far from Dublin? Are you familiar with the surrounding areas and some of the big clans in the outskirts of Dublin which I believe would be classed slums?
