Just wandering if any of you world activists had any views on who you would like as the next US president. I like the idea of the black guy simply cos its about time a black person had the job but thats naive of me as i'm unsure of his policy

Either democrat. It'd be nice if a non-dynasty-like candidate won it instead of a Clinton or a Bush the whole time. Hillary likes Ireland and Obama has Irish blood in him.

Barack Obama.
He has a JFK like quality to him. I dont know whether that is a good thing or a bad thing but he certainly has an x-factor of some kind which is very rare.
I would like to see what he could do in office. I would vote for him if I was a US voter.
But Hilary would be a decent choice for president too I think.
The Republicans have quite a bit of work to do but I wouldnt write them off for a whole decade. They could be right back in 4 years time.
I dont know if Obama's tenuous links to Ireland are that important to him but I could be wrong. Hilary would seem to be the most pro-Ireland candidate overall.

I like both of the Dems and either way it's going to be historic if the Democrats win. Black or a woman? That's the choice for the rednecks, we'lls ee what they consider to be the lesser of two evils. That aside, I'd prefer Clinton only because she has some clue what she wants to do and she has more political experience than Obama.

Been a cynical old bastard if it does come to a choice of the lesser of two evils I see it been Hilary - I don't see the states as ready to elect a black man as president yet - there's still to much underlying racism as noted above in too many places for that to happen.

As opposed to sexism? I suppose anyone that votes for Hillary will be doing so also because shes more experience of how the whitehouse actually runs and the pressure presidents will come under. At least its not that twat Kerry.

I was talking out of the democrats, I would rather have the republicans in the whitehouse than the democrats. Hate Clinton, her interview/debate with the other candidates was a disaster. I like Obama as he seems to be able to connect to the people.

To be honest I am not sure, my only interest so far has been with Obama.
