Maths and science remain average at best for Irish students. Like the UK, we cant afford to remain 'average' either.

Need to do better. With the information economy we have, those stats are very worrying. Maths can be pretty essential for a number of IT disciplines and science is needed for the bioengineering and pharmaceutical sector. With our competitiveness being eroded by high inflation and more competition, this is not good news at all.

NI had been doing better than the rest of the UK for years.
