How about the Waterford man in charge of Wexford? He kinda fucks your theory doesn't he, given that this is Wexford's best year in the championship since 1918?

Is it time to look again at the 'back-door' system? Some Armagh people have said so, as the bitter taste of defeat to a team knocked out in the Provincials only to come back in again via the back door. I am sure some Dubs are also regretting the back-door re-entry of Tyrone. And with Kerry favorites against Cork, Will Cork also have the same feelings later today?

Fair enough, Setanta, but Wexford (until yesterday) had only lost one match all season. If that's the criterion for elimination then Kerry should also be gone by rights too. And Tyrone.

I agree that the Hurling does need sorted out. But I am at a loss to know where to begin. Being barred for life from playing hurling has had the effect that I only take a passing interest until it gets to the semi-final stages.
Having played football until imprisoned and having tasted defeat and victory in football, I can empathizes with the players of Armagh, Cork, and Dublin. As it seems very unjust that Tyrone and Kerry are the finalists in the Sam Maguire Cup (a knock out competition), after already being 'knocked out' by Armagh and Cork, only to come back into the competition by a 'backdoor' system.

AFD - the imprisonment didn't have anything to do with the banning did it? You must have been a fierce physical hurler...

The 'official' wording of the ban said 'I was a danger unto myself and to others' not through malice but by zeal to compete lost all caution. In other words I never pulled out of a tackle and often led with my head rather than with the stick. I was banned from about the age of 14 years, which I always felt a life time ban was a bit harsh. But what are they going to do about re-organizing the football?
