Yeh thats another part of it. When I took my communion and confirmations I couldn't give a shite about god I wanted the money from relatives so I could buy a new bike and a new game, was too young to care.
Suppose I'm thankful I never had religion shoved down my throat from an early age and was always given a choice by my mam (who ironically a few years later becomes a dedicated follower of another religion). Not so much by my da but he hasnt been to church in 10 years, the most praying he does is blessing himself driving past a church or some shite.
