I'd have to disagree. I'm just in from canvassing against the Lisbon Treaty and we got a great response. People were really happy with our reps in the area and the work they do and we picked up a heap of local issues as well. They were asking about information nights and things we were doing.
One hauler was asking us to put a push on the cross border bodies as it effects his business.
Economics is the name of the game these days and in the border counties especially the border is a hinderence to economics. More people want it gone, partly out of national apspirations and partly for the euros they'll make when it's gone.
Like I said setanta, I'm only going on the things people tell me, I would never prophess to be an expert on the subject. Something I think that will help the economics is something I think is bound to happen. Sooner rather than later. The UK will be drsgged, albeit kicking and screaming, into accepting the euro currency.
