Setanta you wrote this to do with Protestant farmers being targeted in border areas, "Again it's not about religion but about targeting people in the security forces.2
This is both insulting and offensive. Do you purposely keep your fingers in your ears and go lalala? There was farmers targeted because they were in the security forces but there were also farmers targeted simply because they were Protestant. You can go on denying this fact all you want and try to distance the ira from any religious persecution of Protestants. Well on this you are totally wrong and as usual as I pointed out on another post there is no acknowledgement from sinn fein. I also said it is the usual defensive stance and you have just reinforced that with your comment. Now either you have been easily misled, ill informed, ignorant to what's going on or you simply do not want to hear it. Leaving farmrs aside, why don't you ask around Newry and how Protestants were forced to move away to places such as Bessbrook.
Then head along to Bessbrook and the first set of houses you come to was mainly Protestant untill the ira wanted different, take a look at Bessbrook now. My late aunt and uncle had to move because of republicans. Two known ira scumbags sat outside their house making shooting signals at them with their hands on a near daily basis. Their son who was disabled from a stroke had to move his kids to another school because both the police and the school could not guarantee protection for Protestant kids heading to school. Funny one of the scumbags son's who sat outside his mothers house was the main one involved in beating his kids up, spitting on them and spewing all kinds of sectarian verbal at Protestant kids.
Funny the police could do nothing to the ira cowards sitting outside the house as they had committed no crime. After an orchastrated sectarian campaign several families moved out, no security force members, no security force connections and all done by the ira and their supporters.
Then take several farmers in the Fermanagh area, forced to flee and again no security force members/connections and all done by the ira. One of the elderly gents that was shot at had a nephew in the police. Suppose good as reason as any to give the ira an excuse. The ira played their part in targeting Protestants simply on religious grounds in the same way loyalist sone the samething with Catholics.
Then again I am wasting my breath because if it is anything negative that puts the ira in a bad light you go deaf and you don't want to know. Yet you have plenty to say concerning what the OO, British, Loaylists, Unionists etc have done and what you think they should do.
What is the point??
