As he continues his preparations for Eurovision glory, the Serbian media is becoming increasingly interested in Dustin the Turkey. Following his star turn at yesterday's press conference, Ireland's hopeful is the lead Eurovision story in newspapers in the country today. "I could get used to it," said Dustin. "I know how The Beatles felt. It's Dustin mania over here." He has, however, had to come to terms with the harsher side of celebrity life: "I'm missing home, so if you could spend on packets of cheese and onion..." As his popularity grows in the run-up to the Eurovision Song Contest Semi-Final next week, Dustin is seeking refuge in his hotel, and will be well protected when he ventures out to an Irish bar tonight. There he hopes to get some cheese and onion and his drink of choice, red lemonade. With his next official rehearsal at the Belgrade Arena scheduled for Thursday, Dustin is continuing his preparations with his dancers in his hotel today.

It's a magnificent drop. So incerdubly sweet-yet-tart that one of its ingredients is listed as a WMD and its export is banned, as I found out when I tried to smuggle two bottles back to NZ with me. ANd if you want really vile soft drinks, Football Special....

Football special!! Wasn't that also called 'Score' at one point? I do remember an even cheaper, nastier tasting red lemonade drink with so football graphics on the label.

ah red lemonade - i remember this with great joy from holidays as a kid and when living with my aunt for a bit. You can buy it here in some bits of London. For some mad reason one of our local supermarkets has a huge section of irish food and drink (not quite sure why as this area isn't particularly full of irish people anymore) and you can buy white pudding, that great 'is it cheese' galtee, kimberley biccies, mikados, red lemonade, tayto crisps etc.

Now I was watching RTE's 'Nationwide' the other day and they featured Dingle (I won't go into the name row thing, that is how the programme advertised it). They featured a man making Black pudding, which was different to the usual fair. I haven't tasted it yet but it is definately on my wish list.

I can make black pudding too, especially after a night of being on the guinness. I wouldn't recommend eating it though!

So where do you get your fresh blood from at such a late hour. Or do you casually keep a bucket of blood handy??

I've had the clonakilty ones - my dad buys it occassionally and i love cheese myself so i've tried the wexford cheddar which is indeed nice - i bought it with potato farls several timeso ver the last few months. I am rather overfond of black and white pudding actually and when i was on holiday went crazy sampling local varieties and locall sausages (please english sausage makers go to eastern europe and russia to learn how to make a proper f***ing sausage as only small specialist companies in the uk make anything that could be called one)
